About Us

The UCSF Dolby Family Center for Mood Disorders is supported by a gift from the Dolby Family and has the broad aim of advancing research and patient care for mood disorders.

Under the direction of Dr. Andrew Krystal, this Center supports a group of faculty and research personnel who work on programs and projects designed to advance research and patient care for mood disorders.  Core programs of the Center include two clinical programs:  a  precision mood research clinic and a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) clinic, as well as two major research programs:  a program aimed at developing and testing personalized, circuit-targeted, intracranial closed loop deep brain stimulation (DBS) as a treatment for severe treatment-resistant depression and a program in late-life depression focused on understanding the relationship of mood disorders and dementias.
